My Friend My God

(My attempt of translating a Hindi Song and making a video of it)

(Song – Yaara Maula…Movie – Gulaal)

My God My Friend

Our memories were still tainted

With the visions of that soulful world

Our hands held colorful balloons

hearts..serene air

My God My Friend

That world was fictional

That world was bookish

Our breath was shaken by uncontrollable earthquakes

Our eyes, sweetly intoxicated

My God My Friend

Ground was beneath me

This sky was above

But unaware,

on the edge of a deep blind void, we stood

then ‘They’ came

With the face of the mob

With daggers in their hands

ordered us

“Throw away those books

hold these iron rods

and the void which you think is deep

is not blind at all,

it has got treasure

it has got your future

dive in with your dagger

stab everyone, who you come across

You are tomorrows Shivaji

You are Alexander

of tomorrow”

And we only did

what they forced us to do

because

It was what they asked

We don’t even know why we did that,

it was their wish not ours

Now our mouth is smeared with blood

which we have tasted and loved

Now tell us what we should do

Nobody is here, to tell us what to do

Now tell us, what to do?

(My God My Friend)
